We would like to thank everyone involved in the organisation of the Cornish Pasty Festival in Redruth, 21st-23rd September 2012. We are proud to have hosted the UK’s first Cornish Pasty Festival.
We would like to stress that as the first festival, and therefore a ‘pilot’ event, we felt that overall it was a big success in celebrating the pasty, mining heritage, and Redruth’s place as the Heart of Cornish Mining. We have managed to put the town firmly on the map, and can now began an annual Pasty Festival campaign to grow into a major international event in future. Highlights included the free pasty making activity, and the street entertainment. There were also many lessons to be learnt, and we will be looking to secure commitment from more pasty producers to provide a greater number and range of stalls, and we will review the set-up at the Fairfield.

The organising committee meet early next week, where we will review the event. We welcome all feedback – what worked well and what didn’t? We also welcome construction suggestions and any offer of help in organising and/or executing the Cornish Pasty Festival 2013.

The Cornish Pasty Festival working group – Tuesday 25th September 2012.
